Gratitude- An important human virtue

The sweeping materialistic culture that is being witnessed in modern times particularly in
the so called developed societies, has led to the contemptuous shunning of what are deemed to be old fashioned, but nevertheless superior values.Shunning of such values is
an expedient escape route from adherence to moral commitments. These are conveniently
described as pragmatic approach to life and acquires the veneer of an intellectual enunciation, while as a matter of fact,it is only an exercise in intellectual pretension.
