The twin evils of Jealousy and Covetousness

The twin evils of Jealousy and Covetousness

Desire is the root cause of misery,as has been insisted upon, repeatedly by our forefathers. Desire, knows not, to limit itself, the parameters within which it could rear its head and the spheres in which it could spread its tentacles. Desire encourages an unenlightened man to become avaricious over a period of time and is seldom satiated. Unwise men do not and cannot see the fine distinction between desire and avarice and unwittingly allow themselves to be led into the path of avariciousness.

What follows as the inevitable consequence of such avarice is the covetousness of anything and everything, that one sets his or her heart upon, irrespective of the absolute necessity of possessing such a thing and one’s rightful claim to it.
